Meeting Information

From an Echidnas Parent "Echidnas Wednesdays are so great!  I love the energy we all have together!  It's wonderful to share our paths, our experiences, our tools, and our kids."

Meeting Schedule

Echidnas meets every other Wednesday night in Richardson, Texas. Our meetings are for BOTH parents and students and follow the same format each week:

6:30-7:00 pm    Social period for students and parents.  A light dinner is provided by parents.  Students are welcome to bring a game, visit or play ping pong

7:00 - 8:00 pm  Students meet with our professional moderators, working on social skills and friendships (usually disguised as a game).

Parents meet separately as a support to each other and as an educational forum. The parent’s meeting follows a pre-set agenda, including a short business meeting followed by a speaker or topic of interest.

8:00 - 8:30 pm  Clean up and goodbye

Social Activities

Monthly social activities are planned with the interest of the student in mind.  Our group's Social Coordinator establishes dates and locations for social events.  The cost of each social activity is paid for by each individual family.

In addition to our monthly social activities, three annual group social events are held:  Winter Holiday Party, Halloween Party and Summer Get Together Party.

From an Echidnas Parent: Saturday was really nice.  The weather was perfect.  Maybe we could schedule it again in the fall. Ann, Bernie, and our newest member Carolyn were all there with their families including husbands.  Being part of the group is wonderful for the kids.  I am so thankful that Patrick has somewhere he is truly a part of a group.  I'm pretty sure he is not alone in this.  It wouldn't be possible without you, and I thank you again from the bottom of my heart and with tears in my eyes for making this group possible.  As they say, it takes a village... and I appreciate the contributions of everyone on our "team".
